FAQ

Frequently
asked questions

Wondering what a trichology appointment looks like? Check out the most frequently asked questions. We explain how the diagnostic process works and what results the therapies can bring.

What does the first trichology appointment look like?

Faq Question Open Icon

The first consultation at our Trichology Institute in Warsaw lasts approximately one hour. It begins with a detailed interview to better understand the patient’s overall health, lifestyle, and existing issues with hair and scalp. Next, a trichoscopic examination is performed to assess the condition of the hair follicles, bulbs, and per-follicular hygiene. Based on this evaluation, the trichologist may recommend additional diagnostic tests, review existing results, and prepare an individual treatment plan that may include in-clinic therapy, home care, and supplementation.

How to prepare for a trichology consultation?

Faq Question Open Icon

To ensure the most accurate examination results, we recommend:
- not washing your scalp on the day of the appointment,
- avoiding the use of cosmetics or styling products,
- making sure at least one week has passed since your last hair coloring.

Which tests are worth doing before a trichology appointment?

Faq Question Open Icon

The most accurate recommendations for tests are provided by the specialist during the consultation. However, if the patient wishes to prepare in advance, blood test results from the last six months can be helpful. We particularly recommend checking ferritin, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D, folic acid, and thyroid hormones with antibodies (TSH, FT3, FT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG).

Can minors use the services?

Faq Question Open Icon

Yes, we also welcome younger patients. The presence of a parent or legal guardian is required to sign the consent form for the examination. The consultation itself can take place without the guardian if the patient feels more comfortable that way. However, parental consent is required at every stage of therapy until the patient reaches 18 years of age.

How long does trichology therapy take?

Faq Question Open Icon

The duration of therapy depends on the type of problem, the condition of the scalp and hair, and the patient’s commitment to home care. The first effects may be noticeable after just one treatment, but in many cases, regular and longer therapy is required to achieve lasting results. At our Trichology Institute in Warsaw, each treatment plan is tailored individually.
